Rangers don’t need to sign Joe Hart right now

According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers and Celtic are set to battle it out for former England no.1 Joe Hart.

What’s the story?

The 31-year-old goalkeeper has been on the books of Manchester City since 2006 but he has spent the last two seasons on loan, first at Torino then at West Ham.

The England shot-stopper has endured a tough few seasons after a poor performance at the Euro 2016 Championships and looks set to leave Manchester City this summer with Ederson and Claudio Bravo ahead of him in the pecking order.

According to the report, Celtic and Rangers are among the favourites to sign the goalkeeper valued at £10million on Transfermarkt.

Do Rangers need him?

With Allan McGregor and Jak Alnwick already in the squad, should Rangers really be shelling out on a new goalkeeper?

Steven Gerrard knows Hart from his England days and knows his ability but he is prone to errors in big games.

Rangers would be best avoiding Hart and sticking with their current options and invest the money elsewhere in the squad where it’s needed.
